OUR PEOPLE
Barry Healy
Prior to defending his clients Barry was defending his country in the role of Captain in the Irish Army. He set up Healy Law in 1996. He grew his Practice from just himself and one secretary to a position today where he employs 20 people including five solicitors. Barry’s main area of interest is Personal Injury and Medical Negligence. He lives in Monaghan with his wife Anne and they have 2 daughters. In his younger days he was a good rugby player and played at Senior Inter Provincial Level. He is a former Captain of Monaghan RFC and University College Galway RFC.
Edel Traynor
Edel is our family law expert. She has been with Healy Law for 8 years and has been the main point of contact for families who are in need of legal support. She loves to help clients transition from the moment where everything seems hopeless to getting them to a stable point whereby they can move on with their lives. She is heavily involved in Commercial Conveyancing and also deals with Planning Prosecutions for several local authorities. In her spare time Edel likes to chill out with her family and do lots of walking.
Emer Holohan
Emer is originally from Mitchelstown, County Cork Cork and has been living in Monaghan for 25 years. She originally started her career in the banking and telecommunications sector but took a change in direction and completed her law degree at night. She specialises in Conveyancing, Commercial Litigation and F amily Law. When Emer is not supporting clients she is running with the joggernuts and looking after her three boys. She is also on the Board of Management at St. Macartans College.
Elena Marukyan Gray
Elena specialises in civil litigation with particular emphasis on Personal Injury and Medical Negligence. As well as her law qualifications she is a graduate of Ballyhaise Agricultural College, Co. Cavan and has worked in the banking sector as a fraud agent. She is Armenian and speaks 3 languages. She was a judge at Stetson International Environmental Moot Court Competition for Central Asia. Elena is also a member of the Board of Governors of Monaghan Collegiate School. She loves wild nature and mountain climbing.
Siobhan McElvaney
Siobhan is a native of Monaghan and has been working in the legal sector for 36 years, 21 of these have been spent with Healy Law. She works alongside Barry with personal injury matters and also supports the conveyancing team. Siobhan loves a day in court as she always learns something new from each case and she enjoys the satisfaction of seeing a client getting a just reward. When she is not working she enjoys line dancing and looking after her garden.
Niamh Maher
Niamh is the principal in our Dublin office. She started her legal career in 2009 and has been with Healy Law for seven years. Her specialist practice areas are Litigation (Commercial and Private), Medical Negligence and Employment Law.
Norma Redmond
Norma is based in our Dublin office and has been with the firm for nearly seven years. Not only does she support Niamh with litigation cases but she works with clients who are buying or selling properties.
Jill Smith
Jill has been working in the legal profession for 20 years. She is one of our legal secretaries and supports Edel with family matters. She gets a lot of satisfaction from working in family law as she sees the clients move from a very stressful situation to getting some relief and being able to move on. When Jill is not supporting clients she is helping with the milking of 100 cattle.
Mary Keogh
Mary came to Healy Law to provide temporary support and she is still here 17 years later! She is the first person that you will talk to when you contact the practice and the first person you will meet when you walk in the door. Mary is a big Gaelic football supporter and travels all over to support her club and county. She also loves discovering new coffee shops!
Mary Morrow
Mary has been with Healy Law for 20 years but has worked in the legal sector for over forty years. She is part of our reception team and one of the first people you will meet when you visit our offices. In her spare time Mary likes walking and baking.
Mairead Herron
Mairead is one of our legal executives and she started her legal career at the age of 16. She specialises in wills and probate. She loves working in the legal sector because she meets a wide variety of people and every case is different. When she is not supporting clients, she is looking after her grandchildren or working on the family farm.
Therese Brennan
Therese is one of our legal executives and she specialises in conveyancing and will making. She started her legal career as a receptionist and has developed her skills over 42 years. Therese loves interacting with clients and particularly when they finally move into their new home! Therese loves line dancing and Gaelic football and can be seen on the sideline at every Sean McDermotts match.
